CDMS have carried out numerous designs on heavy transport aids, temporary erection support aids and heavy engineered lifts. Our specialist capabilities include FEA of structural/mechanical assemblies associated with pressure equipment, structural design or product development. We use the latest version of Solid Works for FEA.
Some Previous Specialist Jobs
An operating company required the replacement of a flare tip on an offshore installation in NW WA. They flew the tip over from the US and engaged a contractor c/w workboat to carry out the replacement. CDMS was required to design a temporary steel platform that could be clamped to the existing column as well as a lightweight aluminium davit arm that could be used to lift the tip from the work boat and into position.
CDMS performed the design on a special subsea hook for pulling chains (535T test load)The lifting of CBH Geraldton silo roofs in one piece each 24m dia. x 7m high cones x 58 tonne each. CDMS carried out checks on silo roof structure and design of lifting/rigging gear. Assembly
of bottom cones of silos was done using large prefabricated sections and support/assembly structures were designed to contain and lift these sections upon site assembly.
